Michael Archibeck, MD
Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon
Fellowship-Trained in Adult Reconstruction
Specialty: Hip & Pelvis, Total Joint Replacement
Dr. Michael Archibeck grew up in Albuquerque, and was excited to return in 2000 following completion of my joint replacement fellowship. He is a board certified, fellowship trained surgeon who focuses on joint replacement of the hip and knee. This includes both primary and revision replacements, unicompartmental knee replacements, and hip fractures.
Dr. Archibeck decided to pursue a career in Orthopaedic Surgery while in medical school at UCLA. During his residency at The University of Utah, he became interested in joint replacement surgery as the replacements provided such a dramatic improvement in the patients’ quality of life. He underwent an additional year of training in joint replacement surgery at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago and returned to practice his skills in his hometown, where he can help patients with disabling arthritis of the hip and knee return to a more active and enjoyable lifestyle.
In 2012, Dr. Archibeck was honored with an invitation to join The Hip Society, a national select group of hip surgeons. In addition, he has published numerous manuscripts, book chapters, given multiple lectures, and remains active in surgeon education. He is also the chief of the Division of Orthopaedics and the director of the Joint Replacement Task Force at Presbyterian Hospital. When not at work, he spends his free time with his wife Janine and four daughters and is an avid cyclist, who trains and races competitively.
