I broke my finger pretty bad. I contacted New Mexico Orthopedics and Dr. Newhoff was able to see me right away. He scheduled surgery for me a couple days later. The surgery went great and my finger is as good as new! Dr. Newhoff was pleasantly easy to talk to and was able to answer any questions that I had regarding the recovery process.

Dr Newhoff was recommended by my husband. He has a very successful hand/wrist surgery by him. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Dr. Newhoff at the evening clinic this was perfect for my schedule. I was having trouble with my fingers in hand. He was very thorough with both diagnosis and treatment. What I liked is he gave me the options for treatment. It was starting with more of a conservative approach to a more aggressive one. He told me if what I tried didn't work to come back. It worked no need for me to get in for surgery. This doctor is very much on his game. He's up-to-date with the newest techniques and treatments. He spends the time with his patients and lessons. I would highly recommend him. I had to use my daughters account but this is from Muffin Menicucci.

I broke my hand mountain biking and Dr. Newhoff was my surgeon. He communicated with me clearly, checked on me often, and did a wonderful job getting me fixed up and back on the bike. When one of my kids broke their arm he was the first person I called. He couldn’t have been more helpful. He got us in quickly, gave my wife and I peace of mind, and treated our son with kindness and compassion. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

This doctor is not a very good doctor. I have had surgeries at New Mexico Ortho before this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. he does not check on his patients and is very short with me. He didnt even spent 1 minute with me pre and 0 minutes post opp. My advice is to go with another Dr. My scar is Horrible and now I have an infection and i have called him for 5 days with No call back I am in pain and have no meds for the infection!

Drew K. Newhoff, MD

Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon
Fellowship-Trained in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery

I chose medicine as a career because I genuinely want to help people. Specializing in orthopaedics has given me the opportunity to assist patients to return to the activities that they enjoy. Hand surgery presents a complex, challenging aspect of orthopaedic surgery where the outcomes can have a very significant impact on any patient’s life. I enjoy treating these issues for both adult and pediatric patients.

My goal is always to help patients make the most educated decision regarding their treatment as their partner. I seek to explore the potential risks and benefits of any intervention with my patients before deciding together how to proceed. That is why I have been involved in research projects in my field that help to advance our understanding of disease and treatment.

In addition to my pursuits in orthopaedic medicine, I also played collegiate and semi-professional baseball in Iowa as a pitcher. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, playing golf, and reading.
