Technical skills combined with the personal satisfaction of improving lives has led Dr. Junick to orthopaedic surgery. He considers treating the population limited by arthritis to be the most rewarding and technically challenging field.
Dr. Junick’s patients are strongly encouraged to take control of their rehabilitation by developing safe and healthy lifestyles. In return, he strives to provide the best care possible via state-of-the-art surgical procedures and physical therapy techniques.
Dr. Junick is actively involved in research projects at the New Mexico Center for Joint Replacement in Albuquerque and has contributed to the publication of various books and scientific articles. He has given presentations at national and international meetings on joint replacement.
One of the vital contributions of the New Mexico Center for Joint Replacement Surgery and a primary focus of Dr. Junick’s is research on the generation of important information to improve the status of hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Junick’s other areas of interest and expertise include total and unicompartmental knee replacement, total hip replacement, hip fracture care, including periprosthetic femur fractures, and knee and shoulder arthroscopy.
Dr. Junick spends much of his personal time cycling, as well as caring for his horses and riding dressage.
