Dr. Chad Smith is a fellowship-trained, board-certified foot and ankle surgeon specializing in the comprehensive treatment of foot and ankle pathology. His expertise spans sports injuries, total ankle replacement, complex rearfoot and forefoot reconstruction, arthroscopy, bunions, and trauma/fractures.

Dr. Smith’s commitment to excellence in patient care propelled him to graduate as Valedictorian of his class and earn numerous awards for academic and clinical excellence. Dr. Smith completed his residency at a distinguished program, where he served as chief resident. He is one of the select few chosen to complete fellowship training at the prestigious Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio, under the mentorship of world-renowned surgeons and leaders in the foot and ankle subspecialty. He received extensive surgical training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery and his fellowship was 1 of only 13 centers nationwide to be named a Total Ankle Replacement Center of Excellence by Stryker. His dedication to research throughout his training has garnered him state and national awards for his work.

Motivated by a desire to help others return to their favorite activities, Dr. Smith chose a career in medicine. His interest in the foot and ankle subspecialty began during his time as an NCAA collegiate soccer player, where he witnessed the significance of both conservative and surgical treatments for foot and ankle injuries.

Dr. Smith takes a patient-centered approach to care, educating patients about their conditions and treatment options, both conservative and surgical. He listens to patients’ goals to develop personalized care plans and provides the same level of treatment he would offer his own family. When conservative treatments fail and daily activities continue to impact the patient’s quality of life, Dr. Smith is equipped to offer surgical solutions.

In his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with friends and family, staying active, exercising, hiking, playing sports, skiing, and exploring new dining experiences.
